Wednesdays are my hardest days at school. I have five high-energy classes that are always on the go. I’m constantly thinking “How can I keep up with these classes?” However, today was a great day for me. My students were engaged and ready to learn. They loved guessing different flags of different countries (an excuse to be loud in class).
It is days like these that I love teaching. Days like these outweigh those less-than-perfect days and help me re-realize that I love teaching. I’ve even come to terms with those long, awkward silences in class or students giving me wrong answers to what I think are easy questions. Moments like these are ripe for learning.
In short, my friends, today was a good Wednesday.
