If Korea has taught me anything, it’s that life is about the simple things.
Today, I only had one class, so I was permitted to leave school early. As I walked down the slope into Seogqwipo, I looked down and saw the ocean touching the horizon. There was one lone supertanker floating on the edge of the earth, towards the water of Australia and Japan.
This week, my lesson has been simple but successful. I bought muffins for my other co-teachers who have been patient enough to work with me these past 2.5 weeks. I ate a roll with strawberry/grape combination jelly for a snack when I got home. I took a brief nap.
Yes, if this old-timey Kentucky girl has learned anything from Korea, it’s that the simple things matter.
